In 2009, Amherst Alum & Community Member, Anne Harding Joyce presented to Amherst Middle School/High School PTSA the need for donations. Anne served as a Trustee on the Goodwill Board for many years.
After Anne’s presentation, Amherst Middle/High PTSA agreed to take Goodwill on as a service project. In conjunction with the PTAs from Windermere and Smallwood, and with enthusiasm and support from teachers, staff and students in all (4) schools, Amherst coordinated a district-wide Goodwill Drive.
Now in its 4th year, Amherst's drive will take place Saturday, May 12th from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. in the Washington Hwy parking lot at Amherst High School.
There will be a Goodwill truck and tax receipts available.
