2021 Year-End Giving Campaign
Helping people prepare for, find, and keep good jobs is what Goodwill is all about. It’s the motivation behind everything we do. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to earn wages and achieve their dreams. Goodwill’s programs and services help job seekers access training and support they need to find jobs and build careers.
The best way to see the impact of Goodwill’s programs is through the individuals we serve. This past October, we recognized three Achievers of the Year that who exemplify our mission. With the help of Goodwill’s work readiness and skills training, each overcame challenges they faced and created their own personal path to success. I encourage you to watch their stories to learn how your financial contributions help change lives by building careers.
We ask you to consider making a secure financial contribution through our website today to help us continue to place people like Lawanda and Chelsea on career paths that can truly change their lives and the lives of those around them.
Donate Stuff
It’s simple: donate your stuff, change a life. When you donate your stuff to Goodwill, you create opportunities for individuals in our community looking to build skills and grow their careers, including veterans and military families, single mothers and many others.
We sell your gently used donations in our stores or on our online auction site and use the revenue generated to fund valuable employment training and job placement services for people right here in Western New York.
At Goodwill of Western New York, 90 percent of the revenue generated through retail store sales is used to fund these employment and training programs.
Your impact doesn’t end there — the planet also benefits when you choose donate your items to Goodwill. Clothing and other donated items not suitable for resale are sorted and sold to various recyclers or salvage brokers for the greatest value. Over the past few years alone, you’ve helped keep millions of pounds of clothing and household items out of landfills.
