Goodwill Industries of WNY, Inc. - Collaborations
|Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus - Since 2007, Goodwill crews have performed landscaping, housekeeping and recycling duties at various sites within the expanding Campus.|
Buffalo Public Schools Adult Education Division - The Adult Education Division has co-located staff and resources with Goodwill since 2002 and delivers three GED classes for clients, accomodating all education levels.
|Erie County Department of Social Services (ECDSS) - Since 2002, Goodwill and ECDSS have collaborated on workforce initiatives designed to eliminate reliance on benefits for public assistance recipients. Currently Goodwill provides Subsidized Work Experience opportunities within our agency, together with case management and job placement services.|
|Food Bank of WNY- The Food Bank of WNY assists eligible Goodwill clients and neighborhood residents from the full-service food pantry it has operated onsite since 2005. The Food Bank also employs our landscaping crews at its administrative offices.|
John R. Oishei Mobile Safety Net Team - The Mobile Safety Net Team traverses WNY to assess communities' and residents' needs, raise their awareness of available services and provide linkage for those with limited access. Our headquarters has been "home base" for the Team since its founding in 2008.
|Learning Disabilities Association (LDA) of WNY - LDA has co-located at Goodwill since 2005, screening clients for undiagnosed learning and/or physical disabilities and providing linkage to state supports that facilitate independence. LDA also conducts a pre-GED class onsite.|
|United Way - The United Way of Buffalo and Erie County has provided critical financial support to our agency for over twenty years. We have been a United Way member agency since 1933.|
|WNY Veterans Housing Coalition (VHC) - The Veterans Housing Coalition has been a valuable housing resource and a partner in organizing the annual Veterans Stand Down - an event for the local Veteran community and their families to access the services and employment opportunities they need. Goodwill has recently partnered with the VHC to create the Veterans One-stop Center of Western New York, Inc. which provides many of the services veterans and their families need in a single location.|
|Supportive Services Corporation (SSC) - Goodwill has been a training site for SSC clients who are individuals over 55 years of age. Upon completion of their Goodwill training, SSC staff assist these program participants in securing permanent community employment.|
|VA Health Care for Homeless Veterans (HCHV) - To best serve homeless veterans, Goodwill collaborated with VA's HCHV services in 2009. While Goodwill provides case management and job placement services to Homeless Veterans, VA HCHV provides medical and housing assistance. This holistic approach ensures Veterans’ receive everything needed for successful job retention.|
