OSHA 10 Training

OSHA Authorized in-person training available for potential and current employees in a variety of industries.

About the training

To maintain a healthy and safe work environment, OSHA recommends employees in a variety of industries participate in workplace safety training. Goodwill of Western New York created this in-person OSHA authorized course to prepare individuals for the workplace and provide employers with an effective way to create a culture of workplace safety in their company.

For potential employees, the training can increase your marketability to employers, keep you safe on the job, and help you learn about your rights in the workplace. For employers, having trained employees can reduce workplace accidents, potentially lower worker’s compensation premiums and help keep your company OSHA compliant.

Our two-day OSHA 10 course is designed to familiarize workers with OSHA standards with a goal to educate workers on identifying, avoiding, controlling, and preventing jobsite hazards. Course Topics include:

▶ Walking and Working Surfaces
▶ Emergency Action Plans, and Fire Prevention
▶ Electrical
▶ Personal Protective Equipment

▶ Hazard Communication
▶ Materials Handling
▶ Machine Guarding
▶ Bloodborne Pathogens

Earning your OSHA 10 Card

Attendees must attend two consecutive days, from 8am to 3pm and provide a photo ID to receive the OSHA course completion card from the Federal OSHA Training Institute Education Center. After you complete training, you will receive a training completion certificate from Goodwill of Western New York. This certificate will act as temporary proof of course completion until your OSHA 10 card arrives in the mail. Your OSHA 10 card will never expire but some employers, unions or local jurisdictions may require workers to retake the course after a certain period of time, such as every five years.
