Goodwill of Western New York will hold its 19th annual Pathways to Success Annual Achievement Awards on Tuesday, October 8th at Templeton Landing. The celebration will honor five Achievers of the Year, remarkable Goodwill clients and employees who have taken their own individual path to success,and great friends and supporters of Goodwill's mission of changing lives through the power of work. There is no better way to tell the Goodwill story than through the moving stories of the evening's honorees. This year's Achievers of the Year are Armando Diaz Flores, who transitioned from a welfare-to-work program to provide a better life for his family; Andrew Givens, who moved forward after his incarceration to create a brand new life for himself; Mark Palmowski, a United States Marine Corps veteran who was able to get back on track with his career goals; Donald Wallace, who found a completely new path for his life after suffering a massive heart attack; and Nicole White, who rose above addiction and other barriers to change her life. Stephen Tucker, President & CEO of the Northland Workforce Training Center, will receive Goodwill's Chairman's Award for delivering superior and urgently needed services to an underserved population, enabling its clients to achieve better lives for themselves and their families. Remedy Staffing will be honored as the Business Partner of the Year recognizing their longstanding partnership that has promoted Goodwill's mission. The Buffalo State College Fashion & Textile Technology Department will be honored for consistently sharing their time and talent to benefit Goodwill. The Customer of the Year award will be presented to Ford Gum, a business that has placed its confidence in Goodwill’s Contract Manufacturing Services division and provided individuals with valuable work experience.
