Remedy Staffing Receives Goodwill Business Partner of the Year Award

Remedy Staffing is all about creating solutions for job seekers and businesses. They understand what it takes to help people get a great job. Like Goodwill, they understand that finding a job takes practice and preparation.

Just one meeting and tour of Goodwill’s agency headquarters was the springboard to a partnership that has grown and developed. At that first meeting, Remedy staffers mentioned that the temporary staffing agency was “all about giving back” and looking for volunteer opportunities. Soon they began teaching ”Your Job Search”, a class that is part of Goodwill’s soft skills class curriculum, on a regular basis. Goodwill clients learn the basics of the job search - resume writing, job applications, networking and online etiquette and more. The Remedy team is always willing to share their contact information with Goodwill clients should they need individual assistance, and has helped clients obtain competitive employment.

When Goodwill was in the process of remodeling and relocating its area retail stores, they counted on Remedy Staffing to provide reliable temporary workers to work in the donated goods/retail area to process donations generously donated by the community and stock the store shelves and racks with merchandise for sale. Having proven themselves, many of these workers have been hired and are now part of the retail team at several Goodwill store locations.

When Goodwill’s Contract Manufacturing Services division has an influx of work that needs to be completed to meet their customers’ time schedules, they too rely on Remedy’s temporary employees to fill gaps in the workforce.

Goodwill recently began its new “Manufacture Your Future” training program that pairs job seekers with local manufacturers looking for entry-level employees. When Remedy heard of the program they offered to “help in any way possible” to help place participants who complete the program in positions with local manufacturing companies who offer a career pathway and have already placed individuals in general production and packaging positions.

When asked about their experience with Goodwill, the Remedy team will tell you that it “genuinely feels like a partnership”. They enjoy coming to Goodwill and seeing that it is a place where “people enjoy working”. True partners work toward a common goal, and for Remedy and Goodwill that goal is “working together to get people jobs”.
