Goodwill of Western New York is proud to announce that it has earned a three-year accreditation from CARF International, affirming the organization’s commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centered services across its workforce development programs.

The accreditation, which is effective through May 31, 2029, recognizes the strength and impact of Goodwill’s Goodskills Career Builder program and its operations across Buffalo, Jamestown, and Niagara Falls.
CARF International is an independent, nonprofit accreditor of health and human services organizations. The accreditation process involves a rigorous review conducted by peer surveyors using internationally recognized standards, signaling a provider’s commitment to continuous improvement, accountability, and responsiveness to the communities it serves.
“This achievement reflects the dedication of our team and the transformative impact of our programs,” said Thomas Ulbrich, President & CEO of Goodwill of Western New York. “CARF accreditation is a powerful validation that our services meet the highest standards of quality, helping individuals overcome barriers and build pathways to employment and independence.”
The CARF survey highlighted several strengths of Goodwill’s workforce development model, including its focus on individualized support, strong community partnerships, and comprehensive services designed to reduce barriers to employment.
For Goodwill of Western New York, the accreditation underscores its position as a trusted provider of workforce development services and reinforces its mission to empower individuals to thrive through training, development, and employment opportunities.
“CARF accreditation is more than a milestone, it’s a reflection of our commitment to continuous improvement and to the people we serve every day,” said Randi Murphy, Vice President of Workforce Development & Strategic Initiatives.
Goodwill of Western New York’s programs are funded through its not-for-profit retail operations and community partnerships, ensuring that resources generated locally are reinvested directly into services that strengthen individuals, families, and the broader Western New York community.
