Goodwill Receives State Investment to Address Workforce Needs in East Buffalo

Goodwill of Western New York is proud to be part of Governor Kathy Hochul’s plan to address the vital needs of East Buffalo. The State will invest $1.5 million to partner with Goodwill to expand the Goodskills Career Builder initiative that will equip individuals from communities in East Buffalo with the skills employers seek to fill higher-paying, in-demand jobs in manufacturing, technology, healthcare, and sales and services. Goodwill plans to open a Goodskills office on Jefferson Ave.

Working with community partners to provide sustainable access to good paying jobs that lead to careers will positively impact the community.

"We are so excited to expand our work in the community. We are laser focused on our strategic vision that will help 1000’s of individuals that are currently underemployed gain meaningful employment with career paths that will lead to self-sufficiency and an opportunity to THRIVE, not just survive," said Thomas Ulbrich, Goodwill President & CEO.
